Thesis:Grady Park represents the energy and high- spirited nature of Houstonians rather than nature itself because it consists of sporting grounds, a playground, fields and walkways which attract people of different ages.
First Body Paragraph:
Unlike most parks, Grady Park consists of a variety of sporting grounds- a basketball court, a soccer field and a tennis court and these attract groups of young men and women with common interests. The basketball court is always packed with Hispanic, Asian, African American and White men all wearing slack shorts and rediculously huge jerseys. Nearby, one can hear the screeching of quick feet and the thump-thump of the ball and as each player runs by, the scent of bittersweet perspiration fills the air. Not too far from this court is the soccer field where he green grass is stiffled by the stampede of macho males running back and forth between two small, plastic goal posts. It smells like mossy, wet mud which for some reason is appealing to these guys. Maybe to these Houstonians, it smells like a hard day's work- unpleasant yet satisfying. There is also a tennis court where two to four men or women enjoy hitting a yellow ball back and forth across a net. The parking lot resides to the left of this. From here, one can see the tennis court, the soccer field and the basketball court.
Conclusion:
Grady Park therefore attracts all Houstonians, the young men and women, the children and the teenagers. While this park is noisy and busy, it is very much reflective of the productive, busy nature of Houstonians. It is important to Houston because it promotes unity in families, sportsmanship, fun, romance and laughter. Instead of being busy at work, school or elsewhere, Grady Park reminds Houstonians that it is necessary to be busy having fun.
This park seems really interesting. If I went there, I would probably play on the playground just because I'm a little kid at heart! The park seems like it would be a fun place to have a picnic.
